Why I love Wedding Photography

I love wedding photography because it’s all about capturing real, unforgettable moments, especially when I can place couples in stunning, epic landscapes. There’s something magical about framing their love against a backdrop of towering mountains, expansive beaches, or lush forests—it adds a sense of adventure to their story. It’s like the landscape becomes a character in their romance, making each shot feel larger than life. Plus, watching their reactions when they see themselves surrounded by nature’s beauty is priceless. Those are the kinds of images that couples treasure forever, and I’m lucky enough to capture them!

A little bit about Darren

/ He loves talking about all things wedding-related, he loves the emotions of it all and wedding vibes in the air!

/ He starts his mornings every day at 5am so he can get things done and make time to spend with his 2-year old son Nate and Frenchie, Royal!

/ He loves the great outdoors having grown up in California, that’s why he always wants to shoot his prewedding in epic landscapes overseas!

/ He loves dogs and grew up with them his whole life. At one point his family had 14 dogs.

/ He is one of the most smiley and constantly positive people you'll ever meet.

Favorite Camera Equipment

The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 is my secret weapon for wedding photography, especially when I’m out in those epic landscapes that just *beg* to be captured. Picture this: a couple standing on a cliff with a jaw-dropping sunset behind them—this lens lets me capture all that grandeur without losing any intimacy. The f/2.8 aperture means I can shoot those magical, golden-hour moments and still get the couple’s glowing faces in perfect focus, with the dreamy backdrop in full view. Plus, the wide-angle makes those sweeping veil shots look *epic*, and when the wind kicks in, the drama is real! It's like the perfect lens for when you want to tell a love story that feels larger than life.

Favorite Photo of All Time

Jade and I definitely didn’t expect a snowstorm when we were hiking in Sequoia National Park, but of course, nature had other plans. The snow started coming down fast, and just as we were about to panic, we spotted this *gigantic* sequoia tree that looked straight out of a postcard. With the snow piling up, I figured, why not go for it? I grabbed the tripod, set it up as fast as I could, and we snapped a quick wefie with the tree towering over us. We dashed out of there right after, but when we saw the shot later, it was easily the best photo we’ve ever taken—perfect framing, the forest’s raw beauty, and us, caught right in the middle of it.
